SINGAPORE – The Nokia Connection event has just started over in Singapore with the launch of two new mobiles in the entertainment-oriented Xseries range of consumer smartphones. The Nokia X5 plugs part of the gap between the Nokia X3 and Nokia X6, but as you can see from the pictures, is a pretty unique device in its own right. You might be reminded of a MiniDisc player in its visual stylings and the musical connection is definitely correct when it comes to this device’s specialisms. The Nokia X5 features excellent sound quality, dedicated music keys and loud speakers, and will include access to Ovi Music, and to Comes with Music in some regions.
But this is also a social media maven’s mobile. There’s a full QWERTY keyboard under the dashboard, ready to deliver tweets, status updates and text messages at your convenience. The device supports all the major IM and webmail services out of the box and also offers easy access to major social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Hi5). The camera offers 5 megapixels, 4X digital zoom and an LED flash. Onboard memory comes in at a modest 200MB, but there’s a 2GB Micro-SD card included, which can be upgraded up to 32GB. Like most recent mobiles from Nokia, the battery life also looks impressive, with up to 16-days standby time or 24 hours music playback from a full charge.
The device also features some inventive new input options. Budding DJs can spin the phone to switch to a new random track; while shaking it reveals the number of unread messages waiting from your friends. At present, the device is destined to launch in Indonesia during Q3, at an estimated retail price of EUR 165 before taxes and subsidies. Its availability in other markets is as yet unknown.

Innpu Perkenalkan Ponsel dengan Headset Internal

Pabrikan ponsel asal cina Innpu baru-baru ini telah memperkenalkan ponsel pertama yang dilengkapi headset internal. Jadi, headset ini nantinya bisa ditarik-dipanjangkan (retractable). Cukup inovatif dan fungsional.

Ide ini sebenarnya untuk mengantisipasi kekhawatiran akan adanya efek radiasi ke otak kala penggunaan ponsel. Dan, seperti kita tahu, pengguna ponsel seringkali lupa atau malas membawa headset/handsfree ini.

Untuk tahap awal, ponsel yang sudah menerapkan built-in headset ini yaitu tipe W1860 dan T1880. Pihak perusahaan mengklaim bahwa mekanisme penarikan headset (retractable) dimungkinkan bisa berumur hingga sepuluh ribu kali. Juga, disainnya pun simpe hingga tak terkesan merepotkan. Bahkan, karena bersifat non nirkabel, handsfree internal ini tidak perlu dicharge terus menerus, dan lebih nyaman.

Sistem operasi kedua ponsel Innpu tersebut menggunakan Windows Mobile 6.5 , yang mendukung jaringan 2G dan 3G China Unicom's. Ponsel pintar dengan layar sentuh ini memiliki fitur diantaranya prosesor 624 MHz, kamera 5 megapiksel, Bluetooth dan Wi-Fi.

NAIROBI, Kenya – The first of a veritable army of Cseries phones announced today is a handset sporting double-SIM functionality, the Nokia C1. Topping the trio of Nokia C1 handsets announced today (more here), it’s the most affordable of the three, coming in at a bargain price of 30 Euros before taxes and subsidies. The Nokia C1 (C1-00) allows you to have the one handset housing two SIM cards, the first device of its kind. Alex Lambeek, vice president, Nokia had this to say about the functionality:

“By simply holding down a key, people are able to switch between SIM cards, meaning that they can take advantage of reduced call rates, flexibility when traveling from one country to another, or being able to share a phone within a family and still use their own SIM card. This is a great added convenience feature, considering the low price of the phone.”

Running the Series 30 interface, the C1-00 also comes boasting a stupendous standby battery time of up to six weeks, the longest ever on a Nokia phone, plus room for 500 phonebook entries, and 250 text messages onboard. Aimed at those in the developing world there’s also some handy features such as a flashlight and an FM radio with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

In terms of design, it measures in at 15mm thin and weights 73g with the battery and sports a full colour screen.

The Nokia C1 (C1-00) will be available in the third quarter of 2010 in blue, red, light grey and green.

Moonse E7001: iPad Killer Asal Cina

Belum lagi iPad resmi dipasarkan secara global, gadget keluaran Apple ini sudah ada pesaingnya. Adalah Moonse E7001, yang merupakan gadget tablet layaknya iPad.

Moonse E7001 memiliki layar sentuh berukuran 7 inci, dengan dukungan prosesor Rockchip RK2808 600 MHz dan sistem operasi Android 1.5. Kedepannya, 'otak' yang ditanamkan di tablet ini bisa pula diupgrade, memakai prosesor Cortex-A8. Resolusi layarnya yakni 800x480 piksel.

Fasilitas lain yang ditawarkan Moonse E7001 ini antara lain 3G, slot SD card (hingga 32GB), Wi-Fi 802.11b/g dan baterai tangguh hingga 5 jam (3000 mAh). Memang sih dari sisi dimensi tablet ini sedikit lebih tebal dari iPad. Bobotnya sekitar 0,7 pons, hampir separuh berat iPad. menariknya lagi, tablet ini sudah menyematkan kamera depan 1,3 MP. Juga, port USB. Berdasarkan informasi, tablet Moonse E7001 bakal dilepas dengan banderol relatif sangat murah, yakni sekitar 130 dollar AS atau kurang lebih Rp 1,2 jutaan.

Sony belum lama ini meluncurkan sebuah produk 'internet viewer personal', semacam tablet internet. Bentuknya menawan untuk ukuran tablet internet seharga 200 dollar AS.

Dash kreasi Sony ini merupakan kombinasi tablet internet dan jam-alarm digital futuristik, yang bisa dipajang disamping tempat tidur. Dash menyematkan layar sentuh capasitif 7 inci, dengan kemampuan multi touch. Teknologi Wi-Fi sudah dijejalkan didalamnya.

Tak sekadar bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai alarm, Dash dapat menampilkan prakiraan cuaca, informasi lalu lintas, berita dan lainnya.

Sony Dash mampu memutar video streaming dari CBS, YouTube, NetFlic dan lainnya. Bahkan, bisa pula difungsikan sebagai digital frame. Akses Facebook pun mampu diakomodasi, termasuk akses GMail.

Fitur lain Dash yaitu bisa memutar video berkualitas HD (1080p), memainkan file musik MP3, AAC dan WMA. Apalagi, untuk kepentingan tadi Sony Dash sudah dilengkapi speaker stereo.

Dari sisi dimensi, Sony Dash cukup bisa dibawa mobile. Beratnya tak lebih dari 544 gram. Hanya, berdasarkan informasi yang beredar, tampaknya tablet ini tak memiliki browser internet.

IMO X2, Android Lokal Ber-GPS dan Wi-Fi

Ponsel Android bukanlah barang dagangan pabrikan branded semata. IMO, salah satu ponsel lokal sudah bermain pula di pasar ini, lewat ponsel Android pertamanya S900. Kini, produsen ponsel ini mencoba tampil kembali dengan produk Android terbarunya X2.

Hampir seruapa dengan pendahulunya, IMO X2 tampil dalam dandanan candybar plus layar sentuh capasitive. Hanya, kali ini lebih dalam disain yang mirip BlackBerry Storm. Sebagai navigasi, dipakailah trackball yang memungkin akses jelajah menu lebih nyaman.

Tak hanya itu, IMO X2 menanamkan fasilitas Wi-Fi dan GPS. Berbekal layanan Google maps, aksi navigasi IMO ini tercatat lumayan oke. Bluetooth pun tersedia, untuk aksi transfer data nirkabel dengan medi lain semisal PC. Guna mengabadikan gambar bergerak IMO X2 mengusung kamera 2 MP.

Sayang, dari spesifikasi awal belum jelas jenis Android yang dijejalkan kedalam IMO X2. Namun, diprediksi tipenya masih sebatas Android Cupcake (v1.5). Harga banderolnya pun belum diketahui pasti. So ... kita tunggu saja kehadiran IMO X2 di pasar.

Isu tentang Samsung Corby Android terjawab sudah. Beberapa waktu lalu sempat beredar adanya keluarga Corby yang mengusung sistem operasi bikinan Google tersebut, dan inilah jawabnya. Layaknya generasi Corby, i5500 tampil dalam disain candybar, plus display sentuh.

Banyak sudah ponsel dual on GSM hadir di pasaran, terlebih dari ponsel lokal asal Cina. Nah, kali ini Pabrikan ponsel asal Korea: Samsung, menawarkan produk yang sedikit berbeda, lebih berbobot.

Nokia Aeon

This is one of the stranger ways learn about the possibility that a new and very interesting Nokia phone might be in the works.

Remember Nokia Aeon concept phone?

Well, one of the Dutch free newspapers –De Pers - has and advert for Nokia Aeon sitting on it’s frontpage, saying that it will be exclusively available next week at the online retailer bestelmaar.nl.

A quick check of the said retailer’s site confirms that they are also promising Aeon next week (if my Dutch Google is up to the task).

The specs of the promised Nokia AEON include OLED Touchscreen display, 12.1 megapixel camera, GPS, HSDPA and is only 9mm thick.

So how real this can be?

I’m 99% sure that at least the part of official Nokia AEON’s availability from next week is completely not true. Nokia just does not launch new phones this way – giving the phone to a secondary retailer in an advanced, but secondary market, without any announcement.

As for the rest – I am also very doubtful at this point. While Nokia indeed might be working on bringing Aeon concept to life, I’m pretty sure that there will be at least some cosmetic changes as the concept drawing is transformed into a real product.

Nothing in the advert pictures show that to be the case. Actually they seem to be exactly the same pictures that are floating around the Net, which is pretty stupid if you have product coming next week, and should at least have some new promo materials on hand.
So what’s happening?

Right now my money is on some stupid publicity stunt by the Dutch retailer to garner more interest for it’s site. April Fool’s are coming next week, so this might be their version of the prank, published a week early.

Archos 5 Internet Tablet

Archos created quite a stir when it announced it was introducing a version of its Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet running on Android rather than its proprietary, Linux-based operating system. Here we review the super-slim Archos 5 Internet Tablet with 32GB of flash memory, priced at around £230. Two fatter models with hard drives are also available: a 160GB version for about £250 and a 500GB version for £290 or thereabouts.

Huge touchscreen
Out of the box, this version looks nearly identical to the 5 Internet Media Tablet that we reviewed last year. It's got the same attractive, glossy black coating on the front and sides, along with a metallic finish on the rear that's something of a fingerprint magnet.

With the interface almost entirely based around the large, 122mm (4.8-inch) touchscreen, there are only two physical buttons on the case -- the power button and a volume rocker switch. We love the fact that Archos has integrated a small metallic kickstand into the rear of the case. That's something that other manufacturers often omit.

Fire up the device and the first thing you'll notice is just how good the huge touchscreen looks. It's got an 800x480-pixel resolution, so text, graphics and videos look pin-sharp, plus it's extremely bright and produces beautifully vivid colours. Unfortunately, it's a resistive, rather than capacitive, touchscreen, which means you sometimes have to press quite hard to get it to register your input. Even if you apply a fair amount of pressure, it's still not as responsive as the capacitive screens used on the likes of the iPod touch or HTC Hero. It also lacks multi-touch support.

Slick Android OS
The big difference between the 5 Internet Tablet and previous Archos products is that it runs Android, rather than the company's proprietary, Linux-based OS. The Android interface looks rather good when it's scaled up to a device with such a large screen, and it really does make the player much more user-friendly than previous Archos models. The menus are easier to navigate, the general layout is better and the whole package looks much slicker.

As the player has on-board Wi-Fi, you can access the Internet via Android's Web browser, and send and receive emails using the integrated email client. There are several other Android applications pre-installed, including the ThinkFree office suite, which allows you to view work documents like Word and Excel files; the Twidroid app, which you can use to update your Twitter account; and eBuddy for cross-platform instant messaging.

Sadly, you don't get access to Google's Android Market. Instead, Archos has loaded its own app store, AppsLib. Unfortunately, it's very slow to populate its menus, difficult to navigate and doesn't offer very many apps for download. Also, although the device can be used to play Flash games, Flash isn't supported in the browser, which means you can't use it to view content on the BBC's iPlayer Web site, and, when you go to view YouTube videos, the device opens them up in a separate player.

Stunning video playback
As you'd expect, media playback is the area in which this device excels. Videos look truly stunning, and films are beautifully crisp and detailed on the high-resolution screen. The 5 Internet Tablet also supports a broad range of video formats, including WMV, AVI and MKV, at resolutions of up to 720p, although it can't actually display files at a 720p resolution.

Its sonic performance is also top-class, and better than that of previous Archos players, such as the 605 WiFi. Audio sounds more natural and detailed, with better stereo imaging. You're also given plenty of control over the sound, thanks to the five-band EQ and balance settings.

Unfortunately, Archos hasn't quit its annoying habit of making you pay extra to be able to play certain formats that should come as standard on the player. For example, should you want to play WMV HD movies, or videos with AC3 sound, you'll have to shell out over £12 each for the pleasure. This is ridiculous given how expensive the player is in the first place.

Also, while the player has on-board GPS and comes with a free seven-day trial of the bundled sat-nav software, you'll lose all GPS functionality once the trial period ends, since Google Maps isn't available.

Conclusion
We love the Archos 5 Internet Tablet's huge screen and user-friendly Android OS. Its video and audio performance is highly impressive too, especially its silky smooth high-definition video playback. But the touchscreen isn't as responsive as it should be, and it's disappointing not to have access to the Android Market. The lack of multi-touch support and the scarcity of apps in AppsLib also mean it's not as easy to use or as flexible as the iPod touch.

BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105

Touchscreens and Qwerty keyboards are the flavour of the moment when it comes to smart phones, and it's no wonder -- they give you big screens to surf on, and make it easy to bash out Twitter and Facebook messages. But RIM is bucking the trend with the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105, its first phone with a traditional alphanumeric keypad.

Prices for the Pearl 3G have yet to be announced, but we expect it will be free on a £20-per-month, 24-month contract.

Qwerty gets squished
Previous BlackBerry Pearl phones had a unique, compact Qwerty keyboard with two letters on each button. This will still be the case in the US, but, in the UK, the Pearl 3G has only an alphanumeric keypad, like you'd find on any typical candybar phone. The keys sit in a wavy configuration, but they're well spaced out and easy to press. Overall, the Pearl 3G's keypad is fine.

Whereas most feature phones use the T9 predictive-text system, the Pearl 3G uses RIM's own SureType algorithm. We don't think you'll notice much of a difference between T9 and SureType.

If you're an insanely good texter, and don't want to switch to a Qwerty phone, the Pearl 3G could be what you're looking for. But, if you want to take advantage of the emailing power that BlackBerry devices are famous for, the full Qwerty keyboard on a phone like the top-of-the-range BlackBerry Bold 9700 just can't be beat.

Wonderfully wireless
That's not to say that the Pearl 3G is lacking in other departments compared to the 9700. It has every wireless waveform you could ask for, including the latest 802.11n Wi-Fi standard. It also has 3G connectivity, which less expensive BlackBerry handsets, like the Curve 8520, lack. There's Bluetooth on-board too, and GPS for use with Google Maps and location-aware apps.

The Pearl 3G takes full advantage of all that connectivity, with an all-in-one inbox that pulls in up to ten email accounts, your Facebook updates and your tweets. There are also separate Facebook and Twitter apps, as well as plenty of others, and we found that they made good use of the limited real estate on the Pearl 3G's 57mm (2.24-inch) screen.

You won't find as many apps in the BlackBerry App World as you will in the iPhone or Android app stores, and paid apps tend to be more expensive, but at least what's in there is usually well designed. The BlackBerry store also has an odd quirk -- it displays prices in dollars until you've logged into your UK PayPal account for the first time, and the prices in sterling are based on the US prices, so they'll fluctuate with the exchange rate. That's just not cricket.

Straight-up surfing on the small screen isn't as much fun as using the apps, although the display's excellent resolution helps a great deal. The surfing experience is better than that you'd get on a typical phone with a small screen and no trackpad, but it's worse than on a Webmeister like the iPhone.

One treat that only a BlackBerry can give you is access to BlackBerry Messenger. It lets you chat with other BlackBerry users for free, from anywhere in the world.

Cama lama ding dong
The 3.2-megapixel camera is twinned with an LED photo light, and we were pleasantly surprised by the photos it captured. Although its pictures are nowhere near the quality of images you could get from a compact camera, the snapper still captures the moment quickly and accurately.

We also liked the dedicated music buttons on the top of the phone, and the standard 3.5mm headphone jack means you can use your favourite cans. Those features help to make the Pearl 3G a good music phone. The 3.5mm jack is on the side, though, so, if you have a big plug on your headphones, it will stick out.

There's only 256MB of built-in storage. But you can add plenty more via the microSD memory-card slot.

Simple and stuffy
The BlackBerry user interface is starting to look rather dated. It also takes some getting used to if you've never used a BlackBerry before, because it's packed with thousands of options. But, once you've had some practice, it's easy to navigate around, especially with the very responsive optical trackpad that's replaced the traditional BlackBerry trackball.

The trackpad has a flat surface and responds to your touch like a trackpad on a laptop. Its insane sensitivity makes up for its tiny size. It also makes the phone easier to pop into a pocket, since it doesn't stick out from the body and get gunged up with dirt and crud.

Conclusion
Is there a place on Earth for a BlackBerry with an alphanumeric keyboard? With great connectivity and excellent email capability, the BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9105 can certainly hold its own against other smart phones without touchscreens, like the Nokia E75. But, if you're really into emailing -- the biggest strength of BlackBerry devices -- you might want to opt for a model with a full Qwerty keyboard, like the Bold 9700.

Panasonic Toughbook 19, Tetap Tahan Banting

Panasonic kembali mengumumkan kehadiran produk baru dalam keluarga Toughbook, komputer portabel super kuat. Ya, dari generasi awal Toughbook, disain serta kemampuan notebook ini memang diperuntukkan untuk kepentingan lapangan dan ekstrim lain semisal dalam peperangan.

Untuk model terbarunya Toughbook 19, Panasonic membenamkan CPU prosesor Intel I5-540UM 1,2 GHz, dengan fitur Turbo boost hingga 2 GHz (Intel Hyper-Threading & Intel Virtualization technology). Seperti kita tahu, prosesor intel terbaru ini memang stabil dan hemat daya hingga mampu memberikan 'nyawa' lebih untuk baterai.

Memori bawaan memakai 2GB DDR3. Untuk kapasitas harddisk, Panasonic Toughbook bakal hadir dalam dua tipe. Satu menggunakan HDD 160GB dan satu lagi SSD 128GB. Biasanya, untuk hal-hal ekstrim tipe SSD lah dipakai, mengingat harddisk jenis ini tercatat lebih solid, tahan shock, tak mudah panas dan ringan. Tapi harganya pasti jauh lebih mahal dibanding yang menggunakan HDD biasa.

Sistem operasi Toughbook ini bakal disematkan Windows7 Profesional, yang lebih kencang dan lebih aman untuk akses koneksi jarak jauh. Meski begitu disediakan pula akses downgrade ke windows XP.

Dari sisi material notebook ini memasang casing paduan magnesium plus rumah harddisk anti shock. Sertifikasi MIL-STD-810G telah disandangnya, yang menyatakan bahwa Toughbook 19 mampu tetap stabil/nyala meski dijatuhkan dari ketinggian enam kaki. Juga, Toughbook 19 memiliki sertifikasi IP65, yang menyatakan secara mutlak tahan debu dan semburan air.

Layar Toughbook 19 yang berukuran 10,4 inci menerapkan teknologi Panasonic Circulumin, yang memungkinkan penggunanya mengutak-atik kecerahan layar sesuai dengan kondisi lingkungan, mulai dari tempat gelap (2 nits) hingga dibawah terik matahari langsung (up to 1000 nits).

Nokia C3 Ancam Dominasi Ponsel QWERTY Cina

Tak bisa dipungkiri jika ponsel Cina berhasil merebut pasar ponsel tanah air, khususnya di segmen menengah bawah. Bahkan, lewat tipe QWERTY murahnya, ponsel lokal asal Cina tersebut berhasil meluluhlantakkan penetrasi pasar ponsel branded.

Tawaran harga murah plus disain yang terbilang menarik menjadi pemicu masyarakat beralih ke ponsel Cina. Memang sih, disain yang dipakai ponsel lokal asal Cina tersebut kebanyakan merupakan tiruan atau jiplakan dari konsep disain ponsel branded. Namun, dengan selisih harga yang cukup besar dengan ‘aslinya’ maka pilihan masyarakat cenderung ke ponsel lokal.

Bayangkan saja, dengan hanya budget Rp 500 ribuan konsumen bisa mendapatkan ponsel dengan kelengkapan fitur tak kalah lengkap dengan ponsel branded yang berbanderol Rp 1 juta-an ke atas. Ada kamera, player MP3-video, slot kartu memori hingga Bluetooth.

Bahkan, gembar-gembor promosi akan kemampuan akses beragam situs jejaring social macam facebook terbukti mampu dimanfaatkan vendor lokal untuk lebih memikat pasar. Ya … meskipun kemampuan yang tersedia hanya sebatas shortcut link, bukan aplikasi. Jadi, sebetulnya bisa dilakukan oleh ponsel apapun yang bisa akses internet via GPRS/3G.

Tak mau kalah dengan penetrasi ponsel lokal, beberapa pabrikan branded pun mencoba ikut ambil bagian dalam persaingan. Sebut lah vendor Korea: Samsung dan LG. Samsung, lewat keluarga Corby-nya mulai merangsek ke pasar, yang hasilnya tercatat cukup menggembirakan dimana respon masyarakat terlihat cukup baik. Begitu pula LG, melalui ponsel QWERTY-nya berlabel GW300.

Awal kemunculan, ponsel bikinan LG dan Samsung tersebut dilego sekitar Rp 1,5 juta-an. Dengan strategi dagang yang baik plus didukung media promo yang oke maka kedua vendor tersebut berhasil ‘diterima’ pasar.

Bahkan, produk Corby Samsung terkesan mampu menggeser ponsel Nokia, yang di rentang harga ini vendor asal Finlandia tersebut diketahui tak memiliki line up product yang cocok. Memang ada Nokia E63, tapi waktu itu harga banderolnya masih diatas Rp 2 juta-an, hingga kalah respon dengan ponsel Corby Samsung.

Kini Nokia tampaknya mulai memberikan persaingan untuk para ponsel QWERTY tandingan, baik keluaran distributor lokal maupun pabrikan branded rivalnya. Lewat ponsel QWERTY terbarunya C3, Nokia coba kembali merebut ‘kue’ yang selama ini diambil alih pesaingnya.

Nokia C3 hadir dengan konsep keypad full QWERTY. Inilah Nokia platform seri 40 pertama yang yang mengusung disain QWERTY semacam ini. Sebagai perlawanan dengan ponsel lain, Nokia C3 memiliki kemampuan mengakomodasi akses jejaring social dengan bagus. Lewat ponsel ini pengguna bisa melihat, membuat, mengomentari dan memperbaharui status mereka di jejaring social seperti facebook dan twitter langsung dari layar utama.

Apalagi, banderol yang ditawarkan Nokia C3 tercatat cukup kompetitif yakni Rp 1.159.999,-. Untuk ketersediaan, Nokia C3 mulai beredar dari tanggal 6 Juni 2010. Untuk peluncuran Nokia C3, Indonesia merupakan yang pertama kalinya, dimana Nokia menganggap Indonesia memiliki potensi pasar yang sangat besar. Mungkin itulah yang tersirat dari pernyataan Bob McDougall, Country Manager Nokia Indonesia.

Lewat banderol yang cukup murah tersebut maka bisa diprediksikan Nokia akan mampu menggeser dominasi ponsel QWERTY Cina, yang belakangan ini merajai pasar ponsel QWERTY murah. Imbasnya, banyak produk akan menurunkan label harga produknya, mengingat vendor-vendor pesaing Nokia terkesan tak mau berhadapan langsung dengan pabrikan asal Finlandia tersebut, kalah popularitas.

Hasilnya banyak ponsel QWERTY branded serta merta menurunkan banderol harganya agar tetap diminati konsumen, sebagaimana langkah antisipasi bilamana C3 hadir di pasar. Sebutlah Samsung CorbyTXT yang kini cuma dibanderol Rp 1 juta,-. Juga, LG GW300 yang dilego Rp 900 ribu.

Efek kedepannya lagi, ponsel lokal makin sulit menentukan harga jual, dimana mereka harus menjaga ‘jarak aman’ dengan ponsel branded. Sekaligus, mereka harus bersaing dengan sesame vendor lokal, yang mana memiliki kualitas dan bentuk produk yang hamper serupa, begitu pula dengan harga banderolnya.

Untuk fitur, Nokia C3 memang memanjakan calon penggunanya. Di ponsel ini ada kamera 2 MP dan Nokia Messaging, yang memungkinkan pengguna mengatur email dan chat langsung dari perangkat ponsel, tanpa PC. Nokia Messaging mendukung akun email Ovi Mail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Windows Live Hotmail dan lainnya. Nokia C3 pun menyematkan Wi-Fi dan dukungan kartu memori hingga 8GB.

Untuk tahap awal, Nokia C3 akan tersedia untuk warna slate-grey. Kemudian akan disusul warna hot pink dan golden white.

Akses Data, Nokia Kerjasama dengan Operator
Guna mengakomodasi kebutuhan data untuk akses jejaring social, maka Nokia bekerjasama dengan 3 operator selular terbesar di Indonesia yakni Telkomsel, XL dan Indosat. Pihak operator tersebut bakal menawarkan beragam opsi paket internet yang dibutuhkan pelanggan, sesuai kebutuhan.

Paket internet tersebut meliputi Nokia Messaging (push email dan chat) dan Nokia Communities (Facebook dan Twitter). Nantinya konsumen bisa memilih berlangganan secara harian, mingguan dan bulanan.

Khsusus bulan Juni, pengguna Telkomsel bisa berlangganan Nokia messaging secara gratis. XL menyediakan paket Rp 500/hari (kuota 1MB), Rp 5.000/7 hari (kuota 5MB) dan Rp 30.000/30 hari (kuota 15MB). Sementara itu, Indosat menyediakan paket gratis mulai tanggal 1 hingga 16 Juni.

Berdasarkan informasi didepan, maka Nokia terlihat bersaing pula dengan BlackBerry. Nah, tinggal bagaimana keduanya menyikapi persaingan ini. Pastinya, konsumen menunggu siapa yang akan memberikan layanan yang paling baik …

Nokia suguhkan ponsel Dual Sim Card ?

Dulu Nokia pernah membuat pernyataan tak mau ikut-ikutan mencipta ponsel dengan kelengkapan dua slot kartu SIM. Kini tampaknya sedikit berbeda, dimana Nokia baru saja mengumumkan empat (4) ponsel low-end terbaru, yang dua diantaranya disisipi slot SIM card ganda.

Adalah Nokia C1, C1-01, C1-02 dan C2. Keempat ponsel ini memiliki disain serta kemampuan fitur yang tercatat hampir serupa. Tapi itu tadi, ada dua seri yang didukung dua slot SIM card yakni C1 dan C2. Dual SIM card C1 bersifat switch. Jadi nomor aktif secara bergantian, dengan tersedianya tombol khusus untuk berpindah SIM aktif.

Sementara, Nokia C2 sudah dual on GSM meski sebatas single standby. Pembeda lainnya yakni dukungan kamera, dimana C2 menancapkan selongsong kamera VGA. Nokia C1 tidak. Uniknya lagi, slot SIM card kedua C2 bersifat hotswap, layaknya slot memory card ponsel masa kini. Jadi, gampang ‘dibongkar-pasang’. Tak perlu aksi copot baterai untuk sekadar mengeluarkannya. Satu lagi, daya baterainya superior, dengan masa standby hingga 16,5 hari.

Nah, untuk seri C1-01 dan C1-02 sedikit lain cerita. Kedua ponsel ini tak didukung fasilitas dual SIM card. Kelengkapan fiturnya pun mirip, tak jauh berbeda. Hanya, fitur kamera kembali jadi fasilitas pemisah. Nokia C1-01 didukung kamera VGA, sedangkan C1-02 tak memiliki fasilitas pengabadi gambar ini.

Untuk keseluruhan, keempat ponsel Nokia terbaru ini tak melulu menawarkan sebatas fungsi telpon dan SMS. Pasalnya, beberapa diantaranya tercatat diperkuat pemutar music MP3, dengan dukungan slot memori eksternal.

Rencananya, keempat ponsel murah ini bakal dilepas ke pasaran mulai triwulan ketiga tahun 2010. Estimasi harga banderolnya yakni berkisar 30 Euro (Nokia C1: Rp 360 ribu), 39 Euro (C1-01: Rp 470 ribu), 35 Euro (C1-02: Rp 420 ribu) dan 45 Euro (Nokia C2: Rp 540 ribu).
